ABOUT THE SPOT EVANSTON

Our Story

More Than A Restaurant

The Spot has always been about people.

Long before today’s restaurant opened its doors, The Spot was part of the fabric of Evanston. It was a place where neighbors became friends, celebrations were shared, and everyone felt welcome.

Today, we’re proud to bring that spirit back.

The Spot Opens in 2026

The new Spot is inspired by a beloved Evanston restaurant that left a lasting impression on the community decades ago.

While the restaurant itself has evolved, the mission remains remarkably simple: create a place where people want to gather.

We’ve built a restaurant that feels warm, welcoming, and familiar while delivering great food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that reflects the energy of Evanston today.

The Pizza Story

Danny’s Pizza Comes To Evanston

For generations, Danny’s Pizza has been a South Side Chicago institution known for serving exceptional Chicago-style thin crust pizza.

Long before “tavern style” became a national trend, Danny’s was doing it the right way—crispy crust, quality ingredients, square-cut slices, and pizzas built for sharing around the table.

At The Spot, we’re proud to bring that tradition to Evanston.

Every pizza we serve pays tribute to one of Chicago’s great pizza legacies while introducing it to a new generation of North Shore diners.

Great Food Starts With Great Partners

We believe the best restaurants are built on relationships.

That’s why we’ve partnered with some of the most respected names in Chicago food.

A longtime Evanston favorite, Beth’s Little Bake House has been creating memorable baked goods for local families for years.

Their desserts bring a hometown connection to our menu and continue a tradition that Evanston residents already know and love.

For decades, D’Amato’s has been one of Chicago’s most beloved bakeries, known for producing exceptional breads that have become staples throughout the city.

We’re proud to serve bread from D’Amato’s as part of the dining experience at The Spot.

No Chicago food experience feels complete without great giardiniera.

That’s why we use J.D. Graziano’s, one of Chicago’s most iconic family-owned food companies, known for producing some of the city’s most celebrated giardiniera for generations.

The Spot even has a beer created just for us.

Working with Sketchbook Brewing Company, we’ve developed a custom beer called Stay A While—a beer that reflects everything we hope people experience when they walk through our doors.

Relax. Connect. Enjoy yourself.

And stay a while.

We believe the best restaurants are built on relationships.

That’s why we’ve partnered with some of the most respected names in Chicago food.

Built For Evanston

The Spot was designed to be the kind of place that feels familiar from your first visit.
A place for family dinners.
A place to celebrate after a Northwestern win.
A place to meet friends for cocktails.
A place to bring out-of-town guests.
A place where everyone feels welcome.
The original Spot helped create memories for generations of Evanston residents.

We're honored to help create the next generation of those memories.
